Nhiên comes from an nhiên, the Vietnamese way of being at ease: unhurried, unbothered, fully present. Our Houston studio is built for exactly that.

Nhiên began in Katy. Houston is the ritual’s second home, close to West University, Rice Village and Bellaire, with the same unhurried pace and the same hands.

Seventy-five minutes

The Nhiên ritual, as it unfolds. Yên goes further with sound healing and a gua sha facial, in ninety.

The whole ritual

  1. A therapist cradles a guest's head beneath the copper arc, a woven mask resting over her eyes

First, the scalp. Your therapist begins at the meridian points with slow, deliberate pressure. Aromatherapy oils loosen tension and build-up, then neck, shoulders and hands are released one by one.

  2. Fine streams of warm water falling from the copper waterfall arc

Then, the water. Warm water falls from a copper arc across your scalp: the hydro waterfall. A mini facial follows with a cool jelly mask, while scalp reflexology carries you further under.

  3. A rattan tray with hot tea, dried orange slices and small sweets on a white table

Last, the finish. A double wash, deep conditioning and a blow-dry. Then hot tea and something sweet, before you step back out onto the Speedway.

Houston is being finished now. Until its doors open, here is the feeling it is being made for.

What is a Vietnamese head spa?

A ritual centred on the scalp: deep cleansing, aromatherapy, massage and warm water therapy, finished with a mini facial and a blow-dry. It cares for your scalp and hair, and it lets your whole body rest.

When does Nhiên Houston open?

Our soft opening is planned for January 2027. The date and the first appointments will be announced on Instagram, @nhienheadspa.houston.

Can I book now?

Houston appointments open shortly before our doors do. If you would rather not wait, our Katy studio at 29807 Jordan Crossing Blvd welcomes guests seven days a week.

How should I prepare?

Arrive with dry, unstyled hair and skip heavy styling products that day. There is no need to wash your hair first: the ritual includes a scalp cleanse, a double wash and deep conditioning.

Can I keep my hair extensions in?

Yes. Our therapists work around extensions and keep your bonds intact (a $25 add-on). For the best result, book when your extensions are not freshly moved up or very tight.

Can I come with friends?

Yes. Book side by side online, or call (346) 466-4436 and we will arrange a group visit for you.
